Meet Sylvia

Tenacious, smart, and deeply resilient, 28-year-old Sylvia spent years alone in the mountains searching for companionship after losing her original herd mates. When neglect set in, a caring neighbor helped bring her to Longhopes in late 2026, where she practically jumped into the trailer to start her new life.

Now comfortably managed for Cushing’s disease and enjoying pristine hooves, Sylvia has formed a tight knit “chick clique” with fellow senior jennets Sheba and Jenna. Ever the clever leader, she recently used her nose to unlatch her paddock gate (see video below of her methods) and guide her friends out for a proud, unauthorized evening graze! Sylvia has truly earned every bit of her safe, affectionate retirement.
