Meet Otis

Otis is a beautiful white standard donkey who forms one-half of the most devoted pair at the sanctuary. Due to poor breeding practices before his rescue, he lacks protective pigmentation, resulting in skin cancer around his eyes and very sensitive skin on his ears and nose. He is also blind in one eye, but he compensates beautifully and never lets his health challenges dampen his spirits.

Otis is enjoying a wonderfully comfortable life at Longhopes, taking his routine medical treatments with absolute patience and grace. He feels completely safe here, knowing that his limitations are fully accommodated. With the sanctuary staff keeping his sensitive skin protected and his loyal brother Milo constantly by his side, Otis navigates his world with total confidence and joy.
