Meet Jenna

Jenna is an adorable, spotted little jennet with a resilient spirit and a remarkable journey. Born around 1994, she spent many years alongside her lifelong companion, Max. From their origins in Nebraska to educational programs at the Denver Zoo and the Edwards Foundation, Jenna has always shown a gentle, loving nature with children and caregivers alike. After spending 16 cherished years together in a private home, Jenna returned to Longhopes under our safety net program in August 2026 to receive emergency care.

Though she recently faced the heartbreaking loss of Max and underwent extensive dental surgery, Jenna defied the odds through her incredible strength and will to survive. Now resting safely in our Sanctuary program on a soft food diet, Jenna is thriving, soaking up every bit of love and attention from her new herd, and reminding us all that bitter loss can lead to beautiful new beginnings.
